I just moved to the wonderful, NoHo Arts District and one of the things I’ve noticed is that this place is right under the flightpath for planes taking off from the Burbank Airport. No big deal, I got used to the jets the 2nd day. I also noticed that a lot of helicopters take off from there.
So, this morning I am eating breakfast and I heard a helicopter, which is not unusual. Then I realized that a helicopter has been sitting in one spot just above the lot across from me. I looked out the window and I see dozens of flashing lights. Hot damn, it’s a fire!
The “Bank Heist” isn’t my kind of place (a velvet rope in the fucking Valley?!?). From what Yelp tells me, it wasn’t the kind of place for a lot of people. Here are some excerpts:
Unfortunately, high priced drinks and just generally a really lame crowd is what you will see at Bank Heist.
If there were a way to go negative with the star ratings, I’d do it. I can’t stress emphatically enough just how bad this place is.
This is one of those places where people who like to be treated like dipshits go.
unfortunately, i couldn’t choose zero stars, because this place doesnt even deserve one.
It’s only been open since October ’07, and it’s mighty suspicious to get torched the week after the last big money holiday for awhile (New Years Eve). All and all, hopfully some cool goes in there after it get fixed up. Some place where I don’t have to stand behind a velvet rope in The Valley.
